Join Winemaker Alex Fullerton and Cellar Master James Tipton as they playfully introduce and detail one of our newest wines, Claudius Pinot Noir.

The novel "I, Claudius" has many tragic examples of friends and foes being poisoned. While in the cellar, Alex and Eric joked that this wine was so delicious many would drink it even if they knew it was poisoned. Claudius Pinot Noir was born out of this jesting conversation.

This newly released 2017 vintage Mae's Vineyard Syrah showcases the importance of detail and craft in the winemaking process. Smoke from wildfires added a challenge to the winemaking to minimize the impact on the finished wine. The result is so stunning we will be implementing many of these strategies in non-smoke years.
